Day 1: Arrival

 Bhutan Arrival
  • Arrival at Paro International Airport and a safe transfer to Thimphu (47 km) journey from Airport.
  • Capital of Bhutan and the only world’s Capital city with no traffic lights.
  • A unique city and Centre of government, religion and commerce.
  • An exploratory walk around Thimphu city center.
  • Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2

Thimphu Tour 
  • After breakfast drive to visit Memorial Chorten Stupa, afterwards visit to Buddha Point which holds largest Buddha’s statue of 169 ft.Visit to Changangkha lakhang, a beautiful temple of protector deity ‘Tamdrin’.
  • Afterwards visit to Takin preserve which is famous for the ‘golden takin’ (a gnu goat) which is only found in Bhutan.
  • Evening at Trashichhoedzong a famous fortress, one of the impressive architecture on the bank of Thimphu river.
  • Overnight stay at hotel

Day 3

Thimphu – Punakha & Wangdue
  • After breakfast a drive up to Dochu–la pass, if skies are clear the isolated region of lunana can be seen which has the highest peak of Bhutan – Gangkar Puensum (7,497 m).
  • On arrival check into hotel.
  • Afternoon visit at punakha Dzong known as ‘palace of bliss’ built at the junction of pochu and mochu river.
  • Short walking excursion to chimi lhakhang (fertility temple), located on the ridge surrounded by beautiful paddy fields.
  • Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 4

Punakha & Wangdue – Paro
  • After breakfast drive back to Paro descending back down from dachu-la
  • En route visit to Simtokha Dzong (atop a demon), oldest fortress of country.
  • After check into hotel proceed to visit Ta Dzong originally build as watch tower now houses National museum
  • Then walk down trail to Rinpung Dzong (heap of jewels) famous for its ancient Thangkha paintings.
  • Evening at Paro city center and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5

Paro valley
  • After breakfast excursion to Taktshang monastery (most sacred place in Bhutan), perched on the side of a cliff 900 m above the Paro valley floor.
  • Later in afternoon drive to Drukgyel dzong a ruined fortress where Bhutanese warriors fought Tibetan invaders a century ago.
  • While returning to the hotel, visit the 7th century kyichu lhakhang, one of the 108 temples build in Himalayas.
  • Overnight stay at hotel.
